An exciting new project for 2021!

Studio Auntara is pleased to announce its major project for 2021: the ‘All of Us’ translation and publication in Indonesia, generously funded by a grant from the Australia-Indonesia Institute’s (DFAT) COVID-19 Special Grant Round

Written by former Australian Children’s Laureate Jackie French and social historian Emeritus Professor Virginia Hooker, this captivating history of Southeast Asia for children has been exquisitely illustrated by award-winning artist Mark Wilson and published by HarperCollins. With poetic prose and enveloping artwork, the book tells the story of two young children who journey through time and space, weaving together their stories and connections of their ancestors. This project will bring ‘All of Us’ to an even broader audience, translating it into the language of the most populous nation of the region, Bahasa Indonesia. In collaboration with Indonesia’s foremost publishing house, Gramedia, an associated public program will ensure children of all backgrounds can enjoy the book and learn about our shared place in the history and geography of this fascinating region.
